It is a new year, and beauty favorites should be resumed over here. If you did not catch our 2014 Favorites post for Think Contra, you can find here.
Now we start the year right and I wanted to share some of my favorites this past month. I have been into a “less is more” attitude when it comes to my own makeup, so here it goes:
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla- I completely understand what the total hype on this product is. Once you try it, you too will understand. This concealer is very hydrating and does everything they say it does: blurs the appearance of lines and imperfections, hides dark circles, reduces redness at the same time it strengthens the skin by helping its barrier retain vital moisture. Now that’s a purchase worth every penny.
Benefit’s Gimme Brow in medium/deep- I have been wearing this everyday, and even on the days I do not want to wear a full face of makeup, I put it on before I leave the house with a little moisturizer and that is all. I finally found a product so simple that can help me with my brows in less than 1 minute. I just brush this thru my eyebrows and it fills them looking natural, it completely does all the work for you and now I don’t have to spend all my morning with my brow pencil trying to help out my poor brows. I think that threading was a big help too but that is a different post I will be sharing with you this week.
Bumble and Bumble’s Pret-à-Powder– Anyone that opens my hair styling kit will know that I am a Bumble and Bumble addict. I use their products to style clients hair and you will find them in my bathroom cabinet too. I was very skeptic about this product since the beginning. I love a good dry shampoo but the thought of having a loose powder in my kit gave me all sorts of nervous feelings, not to mention having white powder all over my black Zuca would destroy me. I decided to give this a try when I saw the travel size at Sephora weeks ago, and I am glad I did. I have used it every other day since. I can’t believe I have been missing out on this amazing product. It is not your typical dry shampoo, I think we stated that already but the volume and texture it gives your hair is incredible, and the smell is great as all of there products. I do not know what it is but still this is probably one of their best products ever.
Diorshow Mascara in Catwalk Black- This mascara does not need much to describe it, it is so iconic. It has been used backstage for many years. I used to have 5-7 different mascaras in my personal makeup bag to give my lashes the volume and drama I wanted but now this is all I need.
